Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information handled when someone visits Gloucester County Criminal History, why it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another service may receive it. Continued use of the site signals acceptance of these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. Gloucester County Criminal History does not keep a local log of those search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to us may be retained so a response can be prepared. Messages remain within the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

Normal server operation records basic technical details when a page loads:

  • Page-view times and the pages visited
  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser name and version
  • The referring site, when one is supplied
  • Visit duration information
  • The device's assigned IP address

Cookies and Analytics

Small cookie files help measure which pages are used and where visits end. Analytics providers combine that traffic into reports. A browser can reject cookies, although blocking them may change how some parts of the site work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Finding and repairing technical faults
  • Routing search-box input to the selected partner
  • Maintaining site speed and availability
  • Measuring which Gloucester County resources visitors use
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Gloucester County Criminal History does not compile, maintain, or sell a personal criminal-record database. It describes access through municipal police custodians, Gloucester County courts and corrections offices, the New Jersey State Police State Bureau of Identification, and the New Jersey Sex Offender Internet Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a dossier about another person. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the search tools. Their privacy policies govern data entered there, including retention and sharing choices that we do not control. Review the selected provider's policy before submitting information.

Links to Other Websites

Links to courts, the Sheriff's Office, New Jersey agencies, legal resources, and search providers lead away from this site. The destination's privacy terms apply once that link is opened. Check those terms before providing personal data.

Advertising providers may also use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. That processing occurs on their systems.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Data may be disclosed only to limited service categories:

  • Analytics services that measure traffic and performance
  • Search partners that process a submitted query
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
  • Advertising networks that serve ads on the site

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable standard safeguards protect the information we handle. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If such data is identified, a deletion request may be made.

Your Data Rights

Applicable New Jersey privacy and consumer-protection law may provide additional rights based on the circumstances. Requests for government-held Gloucester County records follow OPRA, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., while dissemination of New Jersey noncriminal-justice history is governed through N.J.A.C. 13:59-1. Those public-record rules concern the government custodian and do not make this private site the holder of an agency record. For personal data actually held by this site, visitors may ask to:

  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Receive a copy of personal information held about them
  • Opt out of certain processing where the law provides that choice
  • Request deletion of personal information
